MareMonti Shopping mall
As regards this street furniture project, we – as Canobbio Textile – supplied, built and installed 20 tensile structures complete with metalwork for a total of 2,500 m2, designed by the Milan-based firm Traumfabrik, each with different shapes and uses.
Besides having a practical function, the tensile structures in question above all have the function of enhancing the aesthetic level of the parking area by creating fluid light shapes and patterns.
“The parking redevelopment and furnishing project regarding the existing covered parking lot results from studying the context and the area surrounding it. This results in a sign that is in open dialogue with the nature of the place, drawing inspiration from two elements that define its identity: the sea waves and the profile of the mountains. The new tensile structures symbolically remind of these two essential elements through the fluidity of their shapes and their spatial arrangement. They are much more than mere sun shielding structures. As a matter of fact, they are catalysts of sensory stimuli for the visitor. The work is clearly recognisable because it is designed to represent a new “landmark” of the area by offering new views to the observer while at the same time being “light” because it is meant to be a sign of dialogue”.
