Non availability of cranes or other heavy equipment together with a set up time of only seven days per venue, demanded that the design emerge from an exhaustive study of the installation process. The structure is composed of four 30 m. tall primary masts spaced 25 m. apart. The membrane is designed independent of the side walls with alternating high and low points. The side walls do not carry any of the main loads, thereby allowing a quick installation of the main skin. Voltige with its imposing scale stands out of the landscape acting as a beacon a destination to be visited.
The seats are arranged theatre-style facing an enormous 50 m. wide stage, which allows the horses enough space to gallop and play with the artists.
Horses cavort with artists before a constantly changing background created by large panoramic projections and visual effects. Spectators are transported to dream-like virtual settings.
